Mad Men Season 7 begins in the UK tonight, and I am very excited. Excited about the last series of the excellent TV show (well the first seven episodes, the last seven will come later – bit annoying that!), but REALLY excited about the clothes and the sets as we approach my favourite vintage era – the end of the 60s, into the 1970s. Glorious nylon printed dresses, big hair, huge ties on men, frosted lips, massive eyelashes, and maxi, mini and midi lengths!
If the Mad Men promotional shots are anything to go by we are in for a Technicolor treat! With half the office of Sterling Cooper Pryce having relocated to California, we are going to get a lot of shots, I feel, of fabulous colour in the sun! And also a lot of plane shots – and, I hope, some fantastic stewardess outfits in this Mad Men series.
So, will Roger end up with Joan? Does Don get his job back? Does he lose Megan? Mad Men has so much to answer!
Will he make it up with Betty? Will Betty ever get fat again?
Will Peggy and Pete’s secret child turn up? Will Sally be even more annoying this season?
So many questions? So much to wrap up – and then I want to sit down and watch it all over again, from 1960.
Mad Men Season 7, starts tonight, 10pm, Sky Atlantic in the UK
