We love a new Tom Ford product here at BBHQ – and we had a wonderful evening playing with the latest Lip Color Shine Lipsticks at a gorgeous press dinner in Edinburgh’s beautiful Balmoral Hotel Number One Michelin starred restaurant. We do have some great perks of the job!
The new range of lipsticks are sheer – perfect for spring and summer – in three colour ranges – nude, romantic and vivid. There are three nudes, five romantics shades, and two hot vivids.
The names are great – nudes are Nubile, a rose nude, Abandon, a light tan, and Bare, a beige hue. The romantics take you across a pink spectrum, and the shades are Chastity, a blush pink, Smitten, a honeysuckle pink, Quiver, a light blue pink, Frolic, a pink peach, and Insidious, an apricot. The two vivid shades are Willful, an orange red shade, and Ravenous,a hot cerise pink.

What colour would you choose? We would obviously be drawn straight away to Willful (and we’ll be reviewing it for Red of the Week very soon!), but we think Frivolous, a bold pink, and Chastity, a blush pink, are our other favourite shades.
And we reckon they’d suit some of our favourite Bombshells too. Elizabeth Taylor would have looked gorgeous in sheer red Willful with her dark colouring, Jayne Mansfield is the Bombshell Queen of pink, but we reckon she suits a paler lip, and Chastity would be perfect for her. That leaves Frivolous for British Blonde Bombshell, Diana Dors, who wore pink very well!
The colours are sheer, but also very buildable. Three layers of Willful creates a beautiful wash of bold red. Of course, the lipsticks are really conditioning, instantly moisturising, and include Tom Ford’s signature blend of rare ingredients, including soja seed extract,Brazilian murumuru butter and chamomilla flower oil.
They’re like a slim, elongated version of the original Tom Ford Lipsticks, in the same beautiful packaging.
