I had a quick scan through the Golden Globes red carpet pictures all over the net this morning, and there was only one dress that stuck in my memory – Lucy Liu’s voluminous, floral printed Carolina Herrera gown.
Wow. I didn’t know what I felt about it, I was just drawn to it, couple with her bold, bright yellow clutch bag. She brightened my rotten January Monday morning, that’s for sure! The fashion critics will be asking ‘does it work‘, ‘is it too much‘, and plenty more questions about this dress, and all I can say is, wow.
Well done Lucy Liu for daring to wear something that is a complete stand-out, and is fun, fun, fun. And it has pockets! I love a dress with pockets! Maybe it’s the not the most flattering gown she’s ever worn, maybe the floral print is a bit bonkers, and a bit Cath Kidston wallpaper, but I don’t care, I applaud her for choosing something so unique. And look at her beautiful, happy, smiling face! She clearly loves it!
Here’s the Carolina Herrera campaign shot with the dress and a shorter version, featured.
What do you think of Lucy’s choice?
