Bombshell Complexions from Clinique and Bobbi

2010 March 28

We can’t imagine any of our bombshells with a blemish, can you? However, we’re sure it did happen from time to time. But like our 1930s bombshells pictured; Bette Davis, Carole Lombard and Myrna Loy, we wouldn’t want anyone to see our imperfections, would we?

We think heavy makeup helped their complexions for studio shots and movie work, but what did they do from day to day?

We’re sure they would have loved to get their hands on the vast array of foundations we have to choose from in the 21st century

Bobbi Brown and Clinique foundations, new in April

Two of the latest to hit the stores in April are Clinique’s Anti-Blemish Solutions Liquid Make-up (£20, www.clinique.co.uk) and Bobbi Brown’s Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation (£28, www.bobbibrown.co.uk), which both promise to help oily skin, and Clinique’s in particular targets blemish-prone skin that may need a helping hand – but it not only covers blemishes, it works whilst on to help treat them and prevent more.

It’s lightweight, oil-free and long-wearing. It also neutralises and camouflages skin redness and controls oil levels in the skin, and is available in eight shades.

Bobbi’s latest base is also oil-free, and promises to hydrate and control shine topically. It’s long-wearing, and promises to balance out oily and combination skin, maintaining a matte, even complexion all day. It’s available in 20 shades, from Alabaster through to Espresso.

Both are on respective counters from April;  for bombshell-perfect complexions, you know where to go…
