Gene Tierney is absolutely beautiful (as ever) in this charming Fox film, also starring a handsome Don Ameche and a wonderfully hilarious Charles Coburn as Ameche’s grandfather.
If you’ve got a couple of hours to spare tomorrow afternoon, then watching this is how to use them!
Shot in glorious Technicolor, directed by Ernst Lubitsch and nominated for three Oscars in 1943 (Cinematography, Director and Picture), Heaven Can Wait tells the story of a man who retells his life to the devil (Laird Creger) to see if he should be in hell, or actually in heaven.
Gene looks stunning in some fabulous period costumes.
