All About the Base – Youthtopia Foundation

We wonder here at BB HQ; just how beautiful were our bombshells? Did they have lots of thick panstick on – the foundation choice of the day? Or were they truly blessed with flawless complexions and luminous skin, like Gene Tierney, pictured left, who simply glows?

We like to think the latter, but we suspect it may be the former in many of their images. And why not? We are always on the lookout for any product that will give us more youthful and radiant looks, and the latest foundation from Origins is a pretty good candidate.

Youthtopia SPF15 Skin Firming Foundation with Rhodiola (£24, from March 1, www.origins.co.uk) is a high-performance treatment foundation that provides medium, buildable coverage AND simultaneously helps firm the skin. We like it.

It feels nice on your face, and you really can control how much or how little coverage you want, by layering the product if you wish.

It’s available in eight shades, from Very Light through to Deep, and of course the key ingredient is Rhodiola – present in Origins’ fabulous Youthtopia Serum.

Marilyn Monroe’s makeup artist is applying her foundation with a sponge in the picture on the left, but Origins recommend their Foundation Brush (£17) be used with this Youthtopia for a flawless finish.

If we end up looking half as luminous, youthful and gorgeous as Marilyn or Gene, we’ll use anything to apply it!
